Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known for playing the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won an Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her part on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney has a father who was an executive at the United Auto Workers who was also a mother. Delaney has four older brothers. When she was a little girl, Delaney wanted to be a court-reporter. But in highschool her modeling career began when she was able to model for commercials and after moving New York. Her first role as an actor was as a teenage innocent as a child in All My Children, a soap opera from 1981. Delaney has appeared in a variety of TV movies, film and dramatics since then. Similar to her profession, her personal life hasn't been a success or happy one. The talented actress has had to deal with alcoholism in the past as well as two marriages that failed. In 2005 her custody was taken away from her.
